Under 13 – Match Report

Our Under 13s made the short trip over the bridge this evening in search of another three points — and they got just that with a superb all-round performance that continued their impressive run of form.

Crystal got off to the perfect start after just three minutes when Asanda Mudzingwa was played through by an excellent defence-splitting pass from James Reddin, and Asanda made no mistake with a calm finish to make it 1–0.

Eight minutes later, it was 2–0. Some fine work in midfield by Michelle Pascolini set up Jake Murphy, who finished in style to double Crystal’s advantage.

Ferrybank weren’t going to roll over, though, and soon pulled a goal back to make it 2–1, setting up a competitive and physical first half.

Crystal regained control shortly after when Finn Kehoe’s clever footwork inside the box drew a foul from the Ferrybank defender, resulting in a penalty. Up stepped Conor O’Leary, who coolly slotted home from the spot to restore the two-goal cushion at 3–1.

The second half saw Ferrybank come out with intent, applying early pressure, but Crystal’s defence stood firm. Then, on 38 minutes, Crystal put the game beyond reach — Jake Murphy turned provider, sliding a perfect through ball to Finn Kehoe, who made no mistake to make it 4–1.

The remainder of the match saw few clear-cut chances as Crystal controlled possession and managed the game well to see out another deserved victory.

A strong team display from start to finish, with every player playing their part — a real sign of the depth and spirit in this squad.

Thanks as always to the coaches, players, and parents for their continued support.

We’ll see you all again on Saturday at 12:30, when we face Ferrybank once more. 💙⚽
