It was a beautiful day for football as Waterford Crystal welcomed Ferrybank for this Under 11 league encounter, with perfect conditions setting the stage for an entertaining game.

It took the lads a few minutes to settle into their rhythm early on, with both teams feeling their way into the match. Once the lads found their feet, however, they began to take control, moving the ball well and showing great composure in possession. The breakthrough goal arrived at just the right time, settling any early nerves and giving the team the confidence to really express themselves.

From that point on, we played some outstanding football. There was excellent link-up play throughout the pitch, with the defence starting attacks, the midfield working tirelessly to win and distribute the ball, and the forwards making intelligent runs and finishing chances with quality. The movement off the ball and willingness to pass created numerous openings, and it was clear the lads were enjoying their football.

The attacking play was particularly impressive, with a number of well-worked goals. Finn Kehoe led the line superbly, grabbing a hat-trick with a mix of sharp finishing and great positioning. Jadallah Yassin added two excellent goals, showing composure in front of goal, while Hugo Farrell also got on the scoresheet with a well-taken finish.

full credit must go to Ferrybank, who never let their heads drop and continued to battle right to the final whistle. Their effort and determination ensured the game remained competitive throughout.

Defensively, we were solid and organised, dealing well with any pressure that came their way, while Thomas in goal and the backline worked well together to keep things under control.

Overall, it was a very strong team performance, full of energy, quality, and great teamwork. The improvement in confidence after the opening goal was clear to see, and the lads played with real intent for the remainder of the match.
