Our U11s produced a spirited and determined performance to secure an excellent 2–1 victory over Southend in an entertaining and hard-fought contest yesterday morning.

With very little separating the sides early on, both teams battled fiercely in a tight first half, but neither could find the breakthrough before the interval.

However the lads came out with real intent in the second half and were rewarded when Finn Kehoe showed great composure to slot home and give the team a deserved lead. Buoyed by the opener, we pushed on and soon doubled out advantage through Jadallah Yassin, who finished confidently to put us firmly in control.

Southend, to their credit, refused to lie down and pulled a goal back to set up a tense finale. However, the we showed fantastic resilience, teamwork, and defensive discipline under pressure, digging deep in the closing stages to protect our lead and see out a well-earned three points.
