There was no disgrace in defeat for our U14s away to Tramore today, with the lads showing great attitude and determination from start to finish.

We started the brighter of the two sides and created the opening chance of the game. A perfectly weighted through ball from Fawwaz released Andrew who raced through on goal, only to be denied by a brilliant save from the Tramore goalkeeper.

Despite the positive start, Tramore took the lead after we failed to deal with a corner, allowing the home side to scramble the ball into the net. We responded well and had several opportunities from our own corner kicks but were unable to find the finishing touch.

Tramore added a second goal, but the players showed great resilience and regained their composure. Unfortunately, just before half-time the home side were awarded a penalty which they converted to make it 3–0 at the break.

The second half saw another strong effort from the our lads, who battled hard and continued to create chances. Despite their efforts, Tramore managed to add one more goal, leaving the final score 4–0. The scoreline didn’t reflect the effort and spirit shown by the team, who on another day could easily have grabbed a goal or two.

There were a couple of notable performances today. Dylan made his first appearance in goal and did really well, including a superb diving save in the second half. Victor also made his debut and put in a very solid performance.

There were strong performances across the pitch, with Josh particularly impressive in the second half, while Fawwaz, Michele—who battled brilliantly against a very dangerous winger—Tom Hayes, Andrew Pearse, and Asanda all stood out for their effort and commitment.

If the lads continue to work and play with the same attitude they showed today, the results will come.
