Under 12 – Waterford Schoolboy League
Portlaw 5–7 Waterford Crystal
Our Under 12s made the journey to Portlaw this morning—and what unfolded was nothing short of a goal-fest.
The lads exploded out of the traps like a team with a mission, overwhelming Portlaw with pace, power and top class finishing. By the time the referee blew for half-time, the lads had stormed into a stunning 7–3 lead, producing some of the best attacking football they’ve produced all season.
⭐ Finn Kehoe was simply unplayable, smashing in four goals with a mix of clinical one-on-ones, clever movement and pure instinct.
🔥 Jake Murphy added two, showing brilliant composure in front of goal.
⚡ Oisín Hearne rounded off the first-half barrage, pouncing on a loose ball to fire home.
The first half was all about Crystal’s brilliance.
The second half? All about grit.
Portlaw came out swinging, throwing everything they had at the game and pulling back two goals to make it 7–5. The momentum shifted and suddenly it was a real test of character.
But the lads didn’t panic. They didn’t fold.
They dug in. They defended bravely, tracking runners, making last-ditch tackles, and managing the game to see it out. When the final whistle went, Crystal had weathered the storm and secured a massive victory.
