Under 11 – Waterford Schoolboy League
Park Rangers 0–1 Waterford Crystal
Our Under 11s were on the road today, determined to keep their unbeaten record intact, and they were made to work every inch for it in a very tight contest against a well-organised Park Rangers side.
From the outset, the game ebbed and flowed, with both teams enjoying spells of possession and creating half-chances in an evenly balanced encounter. Defences were on top for long periods, and clear-cut opportunities were at a premium, making it a tense and competitive affair throughout.
As the match moved towards the closing stages, it looked as though the points might be shared. However, this Crystal side showed their character once again. With just two minutes remaining, the breakthrough finally arrived when Samuel Bello found the decisive moment, grabbing a priceless late winner to spark celebrations among the travelling support.
It was a reward for the teams persistence and work rate over the course of the game, and another example of their never-say-die attitude.
Great stuff again from everyone involved. Well done to the coaches and players, and as always, thanks to the parents for your continued support.
